Cradlepoint’s September 9 sales cutoff applies to two E300 variants, while a separate 2031 support deadline gives owners a reason to review contracts and maintenance plans.
Cradlepoint’s E300-C7C and E300-C7D routers reached end of sale on September 9, 2026. The vendor announced that milestone on March 11, 2026, and lists September 9, 2031, as the last support date for these variants. Cradlepoint lifecycle notice.
Those dates describe different decisions: whether to purchase the named models and how to maintain units already in service. The notice does not establish a shutdown date for installed routers or a blanket replacement requirement. Owners should separately confirm their contractual support entitlement and eligibility for security updates before relying on the published support horizon.
A useful first step is to reconcile purchase records with the routers carrying business traffic. Record the exact variant, site, business dependency and responsible owner. Then decide whether continued operation, a planned replacement or a contract review is appropriate for each location. Give unresolved coverage questions an owner and a deadline.
Layer8’s Managed IT service can support asset records, device baselines and approved change workflows. Where networking is included in the agreement, the work would establish maintenance and replacement ownership for affected routers. That could reduce the chance of a lifecycle decision being missed between business and technical teams.
Acceptance should include a named router matched to its inventory and support record, plus an approved maintenance or replacement plan. Within the agreed network scope, verify required business connectivity after a change and test any agreed failover arrangement. Record the result and accountable owner; a replacement decision alone does not demonstrate that a site’s connectivity requirements are met.
