The challenge

Build around the work.

A telecommunications customer needed connectivity across farm and warehouse locations that would otherwise require several point-to-point solutions. A cellular design using AT&T private APN connectivity provided another route to the enterprise network without depending on a direct radio path between every site.

How the solution fits together

Site LAN → compatible Cradlepoint 5G/LTE endpoint → AT&T mobile network and private APN → enterprise network

Products and software

Ericsson Cradlepoint cellular routers and wideband adapters ↗
Select the endpoint, modem and antenna arrangement for the carrier bands, site conditions and application needs. Use 5G or LTE according to the supported equipment and available coverage.
AT&T Private Mobile Connection / private APN ↗
Connect the approved mobile endpoints to the enterprise network through the carrier's private connectivity service.
Ericsson NetCloud ↗
Manage compatible routers, connection health, configurations and remote troubleshooting from a central platform.

What we do

  • Survey cellular signal and application traffic at each location before choosing routers and antennas.
  • Coordinate SIMs, private APN provisioning, routing and access policy with the customer and carrier.
  • Stage repeatable site configurations, add encryption where required and connect link health and data-usage alerts to support.

Why it matters

Reach distributed locations with fewer site-to-site radio dependencies and give the support team a common way to manage the connections. Match the service to real applications, coverage and recurring data costs.

How we verify it

Validate private routing, permitted traffic, application latency and throughput at each site. Exercise recovery and any planned failover. A private APN uses the carrier network; radio capacity and site coverage still matter.
